You can save a lot of money by buying a used laptop when you don’t need or just don’t want the features that a new laptop has. In fact, I think refurbished laptops are the best option for anyone that wants to watch their budget.

The trick with a used laptop is that you’re not quite sure what you’re getting. Unlike a refurbished laptop that’s been tested and retested as well as had any problems corrected, a used laptop doesn’t come with that sense of security. |

Because you’re not able to see and test the product ahead of time, you’re relying on their word to be truthful. You’ll want to look at their feedback rating to see if there have been any complaints on their products first before buying from them.

If you’re looking for a used laptop, you need to have a good idea of what you want first. Try to come up with a list of laptops that you might like to find used so that you can match up the details to make sure that you’re getting what you really want. |

• Know the possibility of damage |

When you buy a used laptop, you’ll want to remember that if it breaks, you will need to have it fixed. There are few sellers that will offer warranties or exchanges because these are usually single computers that they are selling – there is nothing to replace the faulty one with. |

However, with refurbished and clearance laptops, you have the option of returning the item or getting it repaired. |
